This has been an interesting season, where I needed to pull back for some time. Now, I did this because I did not want to speak from my vantage point of pain and frustration without being able to share solutions. Also, there were some projects God needed me to work on which really required me to stretch in how I do and see things. Also to share with you some amazing updates on those projects I mentioned. First, I took an Evangelism class with my church to get equipped to share God with others and just recently graduated from that May 20, 2018. Second, I wrote and completed my book, From Faith 2 Faith: A 45 Days Devotional! It will be available for sale on June 7, 2018!!! I also wanted to acknowledge that I am so grateful for each and every one of you who visited this website during that time as well! You are awesome!!!
So lastly, I just want to take a quick moment to share 3 things I have learned on my journey toward recovery...
1. Read the Bible and other books that encourage you!
The Bible even says in James 1:5 AMP, "If any of you lacks wisdom (to guide him through a decision or circumstance), he is to ask of (our benevolent) God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him." So, I knew I was in pain but did not know exactly how to get out of it. By asking in prayer for guidance on what to do, God supplied me with people to look up who could pour into me. Now, many of these people I did not have direct access to but was lead to purchase their books. By doing this, I read and applied their knowledge which helped stretch my thinking on what I could do about the pain I was going through along with the Bible.
2. Your mindset is everything!
I learned the more I focused on my frustrations the more they seemed to intensify. Basically, the way you see business, relationships, or any area of your life depends on your thoughts! This is why the Bible states, in Philippians 4:8 AMP, "Finally believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]." The reason for doing this is because your thoughts set the stage for your actions and reactions. So, choose today to refocus your perspective!
3. Change is a process!
Now, you may have heard this a few times but it is so true. I can tell you it does not happen overnight or poof out of thin air. Change takes time, patience and good old fashion work. I had to learn to accept that!
So, now you know why I took time to get back on track. Not only did I need to follow through with my projects, such as complete Evangelism class and the book (From Faith 2 Faith: A 45 Days Devotional), but knew that the pain and frustration could no longer be apart of who, I or God, wanted me to become. They needed to be uprooted and I knew I could not do it all by myself. Just know this, if you find yourself struggling with pain or frustration, that you don't have to and there is a way out! Finally, I wanted to encourage you with the question God shared with me...
Your future awaits! Are you coming?
