This lesson came to me when I had family coming over to visit. I like to give away clothes that my daughter can no longer fit in order to bless someone else because God blessed me with bags of clothes in the past from others. So I started cleaning out my daughter's dresser a couple days before the family was to arrive.
What God showed me is that I failed to be fully prepared.
I went through the dresser and began to prepare a bag. Then I told myself I would go through the closet later and put everything I planned on giving from the closet in that one bag. This did not happen due to me thinking I would have more time and moving on to another task before completely finishing. The Bible reminds us of how to be prepared for things in Proverbs 6:6-8 KJV "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest."
Just like the ant, I could have been fully prepared and also gone the extra mile. I should have cleaned the closet the same day I cleaned out the dresser and then should have placed the bag in the room they were staying in so they could have either looked through it or taken the whole bag with them.
Even though this event was a small one, it still brought up the question
Are you prepared in all things?
