Why does it seem like new beginnings are birthed in the midst of a storm?
This question came to mind last night while I was looking through past journal entries. Here is the part of my prayer to God that sparked my question above...
"Lastly thank you for the confirmation with the pregnancy test. Please lead, protect and help me through this new journey. You have done it before and I know you will do it again."
When I wrote this, my family and I were going through a storm around the same time we realized I was pregnant. I remember having mixed emotions due to not knowing how everything would turn out. As you see in the entry above, I did believe that God would see us through. I did not know how He would do it or even the length of time it would take. All I knew was the child growing inside of me was coming one way or another rather the storm had ceased or not.
The Bible is filled with many people who have experienced new beginnings out of storms in their life such as Moses (Exodus 2), Joseph (Genesis 39), and Ruth (Ruth 1) to name a few. What carried them through was their faith in God shown in Hebrews 11, which is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible by the way. The Holy Spirit reminded me that my faith needed to fully rest in God. Even though my family and I are still passing through the storm, the journal entries reminded me how far we have come. So no matter where you are in life, just know that God can create new journeys out of anything, even storms!
