Recently, my daughter has reminded me of this. It is like she can tell when I am overwhelmed with all that is going on in my life and I am trying hard to figure out how to fix the problem(s). I am truly grateful for her sweet and precious reminders that we serve a God, who can make what seems impossible to us possible.
Driving down the road, I did not notice it at first but soon I began to feel the stares and see people mouthing the words, "Look at that? or Wow, What happened?" They were all staring at what was the aftermath of a car accident (or scar as I like to call it) on my truck. The damage is openly noticeable to the point where I began to count how many people took notice or even said something.
I bring up this situation because it reminded me of the internal scars that many of us carry but we allow these to fester on without healing or resolve. Psalm 147:3 KJV says God can "...healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds."
So why do we run from Him?
Why do we feel our burden is ours to bear alone?
Yes, we are at war! But the type of war I speak of comes in the form of some of the trials, tribulations, and even distractions we face in our lives. You may even wonder
Who or What are we fighting?
The Bible describes just who and what we are at war against in Ephesians 6:12 KJV "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
So how do we prepare for a spiritual war?
